cool sounds and world

My that wizard stick was creepy. I thought you established an interesting storyworld where anything can happen. Some really good sounds in here, like the skulls, those had a very unique sound. How did you make those sounds, what from!?

toxicbomb responds:

Haha, I used some christmas lights. You know those red bell ones? Ya :) Its pretty fun making your own noises!

my quick review

Good use of lack of sounds, they may have served as a distraction, but maybe ONE sound effect might have been useful, like the dropping of the bomb, repeated a few times with echo. Good use of detailed graphics to put things very clear. Presenting one party's side of the war might serve as a bias.

SSFSO responds:

Pretty good for a quick review. Good analysis as to my lack of sound, I did feel that event sounds would detract from the movie. Also to address the point you made about a bias, I did not create Centerboard to denounce or support the actions taken by the United Stated when they dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagisaki, but I would be interested to see the movie spark a bit of discussion in the same fashion Vengeance DVD did (without the death threats please!).

sweet and juicy

Hah, this was pretty funny. Great jingle at the end too. I'm glad to see you're still cartooning your way to the top! You're getting better. I'd like to see the professor again. Maybe he invents all sorts of stuff in his spare time, and all the inventions have unintentional sexual content associated with them.

KupaMan responds:

Thanks. That's a good idea. By the way, congrats on Little Inspiration getting front page.

reviewing it on trailer value

Cool trailer. I liked the intercut credit titles between the graphics. It fit well with the music. You kept the trailer just subtle enough to not give too much away and leave us with curiousity. It might work as a teaser in that regard. I don't know how these things work :)

JonnyFFM responds:

Thank you! It could be a teaser I guess, because I just might use it as the opening scene for the real thing, as the credits are built in to it :)

good writing, good characters

I enjoyed the writing and the character design/voices. It's difficult to entertain someone that long. But it worked! I want to know what happens at their job and how each character will react when they get there.

BaconMask responds:

Well, I'm glad I held your attention for the durration of the movie! There are going to be a lot of weird, nutty things that happen in the next two parts... can't discuss them at the moment, but you'll NOT be disapointed! Thanks!

why

I really want to know why you thanked ABS? That guy steals my cartoons.

cpductions responds:

All content on his site is submitted through the forums. He doesn't go out in search of flash, he's too damn lazy to do that. ;)

amongst the ...

Where does Turtle go after the planet is furtile? Into space and amongst the stars! Interesting little cartoon. Thanks for making it!

Max-the-Great responds:

no problem, happy to make it.

fun house

It should have more too it, but the dancing house was actually funny and unexpected.

ZekeySpaceyLizard responds:

Hey!

This is the second time you've reviewed one of my shorts.

I am quite lucky to be reviewed by one so famous as you twice.

(I voted for Handicop, btw)

(Yes, this is blatent ass-kissing)

needs more!

The music sounds familiar, if only there were credits to know who it was! One of the voices sounds like Anakin's slave owner from Star Wars Episode 1. Interesting drawing style.

macolme responds:

The music is "Panzerchrist - Death aproaching", and the voices are myself

good work, music advice

Nice work! It was entertaining with the random things that you came up with to show him getting pissed off. The music was important in your cartoon, so good work on your selection of music!

To boost the sound, add another audio layer with the music track starting at the same frame. You can "Copy Keyframe" and then "Paste Keyframe" when you have a new layer.

Good work!

RareFactory responds:

thank you for telling me this, I'll be sure to try that on my next flash if I find the sound really low, thank you for reviewing, and thanks for the advice!
